Aerandir Reference by Teggy Aerandir Reference by Teggy
This is my new Aerandir dragon species, this paintings going on its reference sheet i really wanted to share the works in progresses on my DA page. hope you guys like it
i made his head tilted a little away from the view, that why his head looks smaller. i know you guys will pick it up i did that because im using the same pose for the skeleton diagram and i think it will look kinda cool to have a slightly different perspective on the skull.
so far this species isn't open to the public.

Very impressed by your anatomy. Every muscle is where it needs to be and lends a lot of believability.

Woah, this is amazing. The design, the shape of its body and the fact that the light emphasises this. It's all glossy! This is the level of talent I hope to achieve one day ;_;
Imma go digging through your gallery now...I apologise for the :+fav: storm that's about to hit..

awe I'm glad you like this guy so much, he's starting to feel a lot like my Dragon baby now and i feel like I'm putting everything i have learned over the past years into this guy and even along the way i'm still learning a tun of stuff.

That is sweet, and I kinda know how that feels with one of my creations. It must feel great to be able to draw something important like that and make it look incredible~

I think if I ever needed help with anything it would be how to make my digital paintings more realistic. I feel as if I'm a third of the way there, my lighting and shadow is alright but it looks so cartoonish..
I should watch tutorials now that I have more free time but I'd love if you could give me any tips. Your paintings are so wonderful, I'm envious :lmao:
I churned out a digital painting today actually, it doesn't feel that finished and I might tweak it some more but it pretty much expresses the level that I'm at atm :B lol

I'm seriously in love with that design. The irregular striping pattern look very natural to the dragon's coat, i specially can't spot staring at the leg. Also, I love the way the dragon looks so shiny and bulky, yet very elegant... it's truly a great species :3.

Wow, is that reptilian, mammalian or both?
The textures looks reptilian where the anatomy is very mammalian, like a horse.

I do like it, though. It really works without the wings.

(Haha, personally, I don't really like sticking wings on the backs of vertebrae. It's just to hard to work out the skeleton, because no real vertebrae has wings on their back.)
